EDGAR'S WINS 13th CONSECUTIVE WINE
SPECTATOR AWARD
April 20, 2006 (GENEVA,
NEW YORK) — Belhurst Vice President Kevin Reeder is proud to announce
the 13th consecutive “Award of Excellence” has been bestowed to Edgar’s
restaurant by Wine Spectator magazine for its extensive wine offerings.
The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards Program receives over thousands of
entries every year from the nation’s best restaurants. The awards are
given to restaurants that offer a fine wine list, with a sufficient
selection of better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in
both price and style. The highly acclaimed Edgar’s is located on the
first floor of Belhurst offering guests the beauty of wood carvings in
the interior of the 1880’s stone castle overlooking Seneca Lake. Edgar’s
features a wine list of over 250 select wines from around the world and
the Finger Lakes wine country.
The winning wine list has been under the supervision of Kelly Lynch,
Belhurst restaurant manager, for over 5 years. “Kelly’s strength lies in
consistently tasting and testing new wines from around the globe to
offer our dining guests,” said Kevin Reeder “her palate and skill at
choosing wines which our guests adore is amazing and has proven to
exceed guests’ expectations over and over.”
Known for its charm, unique architecture, and stunning lake views, the
Belhurst properties include Belhurst Castle, originally built in 1885;
White Springs Manor, originally built around 1900; and The Vinifera Inn
which opened in 2004. The Reeder family acquired the Castle in 1992 with
the dream of offering Finger Lakes visitors the unique beauty, luxury
and romance of historical legend. Belhurst is on the National Register
of Historic Properties, has been voted One of the Most Romantic Places
in NYS, has won thirteen Awards of Excellence in the Wine Spectator
Restaurant Awards Program, and continues to be one of the most beloved
destinations in the Finger Lakes.
