BELHURST ANNOUNCES AD CONTEST WINNER
October 16, 2006 (GENEVA, NEW YORK) — Belhurst Vice President Kevin
Reeder proudly announces the winner of the “Create A Belhurst Ad
Contest” in which guests were invited to submit their ideas and artwork
for a new Belhurst print advertisement. Lorrie Frear, of South Bristol,
created and submitted the winning print advertisement which will run in
local print media in October.
Guests of all ages were encouraged to try their hand at creating the
best advertisement which portrays the beauty and offerings of Belhurst.
A graphic design and calligraphy teacher at RIT, Ms. Frear submitted an
original idea using descriptive words to create an abstract sunset with
the Belhurst logo as the centerpiece. “I entered the contest because I
love Belhurst and have a personal attachment to it,” explains Ms. Frear.
“I had my wedding reception there and have stayed several times since
then. I felt that I had experienced many of the unique features of
Belhurst and could communicate that.”
“We received many creative entries for this contest,” said Kevin Reeder.
“Ms. Frear’s excellent piece stood out for its simplicity and
originality. We are very pleased to run this print advertisement as our
winner.”
As the winner, Ms. Frear will be awarded a night’s lodging in Belhurst,
Dinner for two in Edgar’s, and complimentary breakfast buffet for two.
Known for its charm, unique architecture, and stunning lake views, the
Belhurst properties include Belhurst Castle, originally built in 1885;
White Springs Manor, originally built around 1900; and the newest hotel
Vinifera Inn. The Reeder family acquired the Castle in 1992 with the
dream of offering Finger Lakes visitors the unique beauty, luxury and
romance of historical legend. Also included on the property are Edgar’s
– the restaurant in the castle, Stonecutters lounge, and Belhurst Wine &
Gift Shop. Belhurst has been voted One of the Most Romantic Places in
NYS, has won thirteen consecutive Awards of Excellence in the Wine
Spectator Restaurant Awards Program, has won many wine competition
medals for its Belhurst wine, and continues to be one of the most
beloved destinations in the Finger Lakes.
